Take a Moment

Yeah, take a moment. It’s hard, I know. It’s hard to sit still. It’s hard to not do a thing. It’s harder to do a thing while not doing anything else. Take a moment. Think about the last time you spent time with Jesus. Not at church or at a Bible study. The last time you, on your own, spent time with Jesus. This is your wake up call.
How much time do you spend watching tv? How much time do you spend fumbling through your day, lifeless? How much time do you spend being unhappy? How much time do you spend in a hurry to get the next thing on your list done? We’re not here to fumble around, being unhappy, and in a hurry.

I, personally, spend too much time doing all of these things. I’ve become disconnected. I wake up, do what I need to get done, and go to bed wondering what I did with the day. Days pass without change. That’s not why I’m here. I’m not here to fumble through. We were made for so much more than this.

It tells us this in Ephesians 2:8-10

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

We were called to serve and to love and to passionately pursue The Lord. Take a moment and say a prayer. Ask God to open your eyes to where you need to be. Ask Him for direction. Ask Him for comfort. Ask Him for help. Center your life around what truly matters. Put aside all of the things you need to get done and all the things you want to do. Take a moment and spend some time with Jesus. It will be worth it, I promise.
