How many of us can admit that change is hard? Some of us can accept change a little better than others but I don’t know that anyone really loves for things to change. It can be hard! Our daily lives might be interrupted or even worse, our futures. It’s funny though that change is so inevitable yet so unwanted. This is also the way growth works. I can look at many times in my life where I’ve grown and nearly every time, I also see challenges or hardships. In my life, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen in our comfort zones. God challenges us to leave our comfort zones, which is not fun, but He also promises us…
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
God wants us to know that no matter what changes or challenges come our way, nothing can surpass the power that we have through Him. We ourselves are powerless in dealing with the things of the world but we have been given the power of God and He is promising us that through that power, the challenges we face are only that, a challenge.
The bible says in James 1:2-4 when we come face to face with challenges or hardships, we are to consider it a joy because we know that our faith is being tested and that going through these tests of faith causes growth and steadfastness. When we face challenge, it allows us to become focused in our faith and keep our eyes on the Lord. So, here is the question I want to ask to you, are you going to let life’s changes and challenges cause you to be bitter or better?
